Natural Healthcare for the Hawkesbury

At Kurrajong Natural Medicine Centre, we provide individualised natural healthcare for people throughout the Hawkesbury and surrounding areas. Our approach is centred on understanding your health as an interconnected whole, rather than simply treating an isolated symptom.

Our principal areas of care include Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, naturopathy and Western herbal medicine, supported by other natural and complementary approaches where appropriate.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a complete system of medicine with its own established principles of diagnosis, assessment and treatment. At our clinic, TCM may incorporate acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, moxibustion, cupping and individualised dietary and lifestyle guidance, depending on your circumstances.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the principal therapies within Traditional Chinese Medicine. It may be used as part of an individualised treatment approach for a range of health concerns, including pain and musculoskeletal conditions, stress and anxiety, sleep problems and supportive care during cancer treatment.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine is another important component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Individual herbal prescriptions are developed according to the traditional Chinese medical assessment of each person rather than simply matching a herb to a symptom.

Naturopathy & Western Herbal Medicine

Naturopathy and Western herbal medicine use a different traditional framework from TCM, drawing on Western herbal traditions, nutrition, lifestyle and other natural approaches to support health and wellbeing. Care is individualised according to your health concerns, circumstances and goals.

Integrative Cancer Support

We also provide complementary and supportive care for people living with cancer, during treatment and throughout recovery. Our approach is designed to complement, rather than replace, conventional cancer care and may draw on acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, naturopathy and herbal medicine according to individual needs.

Individualised Care

Your health concerns rarely exist in isolation. During your consultation, Danny or Susan will consider your current symptoms alongside your broader health, medical history, lifestyle and other relevant factors. This helps establish an individualised approach to care and determine which therapeutic methods may be appropriate for you.

Our aim is to provide thoughtful, evidence-informed natural healthcare while recognising the complexity and individuality of each person.

What We Do At Kurrajong Natural Medicine Centre

Our practitioners, Danny and Susan, understand that every patient has their own unique health concerns and needs, and we are committed to providing personalised care to address those specific requirements.

Our primary objective is to assist you in achieving and maintaining your optimal level of good health and overall well-being. We are committed to providing comprehensive and personalised care to address your specific health needs. We achieve this by offering:

    • Comprehensive Health Assessments: We conduct thorough assessments to gain a comprehensive understanding of your current health status. This includes reviewing your medical history, discussing your symptoms, and exploring potential underlying factors that may be contributing to your health issues. By taking this holistic approach, we can develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
    • Holistic Treatment Plans: Based on the information gathered during the assessment, we design holistic treatment plans that consider all aspects of your well-being. These plans may incorporate a combination of natural therapies, lifestyle modifications, dietary recommendations and stress management techniques. Our goal is to address the root causes of your health concerns, rather than simply managing symptoms.
    • Education and Empowerment: We believe that education plays a vital role in your journey towards optimal health. We take the time to educate you about your health condition, the underlying factors contributing to it and the treatment options available. By empowering you with knowledge and understanding, we enable you to make informed decisions and actively participate in your own healing process.
    • Supportive and Collaborative Environment: We strive to create a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment where you feel comfortable discussing your health concerns openly. Our practitioners are compassionate listeners who value your input and actively involve you in the decision-making process. We believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship with our patients, as it is an essential component of successful health outcomes.
    • Continual Care and Follow-up: We are committed to providing ongoing care and support throughout your healing journey. We understand that achieving optimal health is a process that takes time, and we are here to guide you every step of the way. We schedule regular follow-up appointments to monitor your progress, make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan, and address any new concerns that may arise.

Ultimately, our mission is to help you regain your optimal level of good health and well-being by providing comprehensive care, personalised treatment plans, and empowering you with the knowledge and support you need. We are dedicated to helping you achieve lasting results and live a vibrant, healthy life.

Why People Choose Kurrajong Natural Medicine Centre

Choosing a natural healthcare practitioner is about more than finding a treatment. It is about finding experienced practitioners who take the time to understand you, your health history and the factors that may be influencing your wellbeing.

More than 70 years of combined clinical experience

Danny and Susan Siegenthaler bring more than 70 years of combined experience in natural medicine. Danny has practised Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine since 1985, including clinical experience in China, while Susan has extensive experience in Western herbal medicine, remedial massage and other natural health approaches. Susan has been practicing since the mid 70’s.

Professional Healthcare for Your Whole Family is Available at Kurrajong Natural Medicine Centre

Their depth of experience allows them to draw on many years of clinical observation while continuing to take an individualised approach to each person.

A genuinely individualised approach

No two people are exactly alike, and the same health concern can arise from very different circumstances. Rather than simply matching a treatment to a diagnosis or symptom, Danny and Susan take the time to understand your broader health picture.

Your consultation may explore aspects of your health that initially seem unrelated to your main concern. This broader assessment helps identify patterns, contributing factors and connections that may otherwise be overlooked.

Multiple natural medicine disciplines in one clinic

Kurrajong Natural Medicine Centre brings together Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, naturopathy and Western herbal medicine, along with complementary approaches where appropriate.

This breadth means your care does not have to be restricted to a single therapeutic approach. Depending on your individual circumstances, different approaches may be considered as part of your overall healthcare plan.

Experienced, professionally qualified practitioners

You are treated directly by Danny and Susan, rather than being passed between a large team of practitioners.

Danny is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine with extensive clinical, teaching and professional experience. Susan is a highly experienced medical herbalist, remedial massage therapist and senior yoga instructor. Both have maintained longstanding involvement with professional associations and the natural medicine profession.

A quiet, personal clinical environment

The clinic provides a calm and private setting in Grose Wold, near North Richmond, where consultations are conducted by appointment rather than in a busy, high-volume environment.

This allows time for careful assessment, discussion and individualised care, with the focus kept firmly on you.

Care that looks at the bigger picture

Health concerns often involve more than one part of the body or one aspect of a person’s life. Digestive health, sleep, stress, pain, energy, hormonal health and emotional wellbeing can all interact in complex ways.

Our approach is therefore not simply about addressing what is happening today. Where appropriate, we look at the wider picture and develop a treatment plan that aims to support your health and wellbeing over time.

Serving the Hawkesbury since 2009

Established in 2009, Kurrajong Natural Medicine Centre provides natural healthcare to people throughout the Hawkesbury and surrounding communities, including Grose Wold, Kurrajong, Kurmond, North Richmond, Richmond, Windsor and surrounding areas.

For people looking for experienced, individualised natural healthcare close to home, our clinic offers a combination of clinical experience, personal attention and a genuinely multidisciplinary approach.

Our Treatment Approaches

At Kurrajong Natural Medicine Centre, treatment is tailored to the individual rather than based on a one-size-fits-all approach. Depending on your health concerns, medical history and treatment goals, your care may draw on one or more of the following approaches.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a complete system of medicine with its own methods of assessment, diagnosis and treatment. It may incorporate acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, moxibustion, cupping, dietary advice and lifestyle guidance, depending on your individual needs.

Acupuncture

An Individualised Approach

These approaches are not necessarily used in isolation. Following your consultation, Danny or Susan will recommend an appropriate treatment approach based on your individual health circumstances, rather than simply treating a symptom in isolation.

The aim is to provide thoughtful, individualised natural healthcare while recognising that different people may respond differently to different approaches.

What to Expect During a Consultation?

At Kurrajong Natural Medicine Centre, Danny and Susan take an individualised, whole-person approach to your health. Your initial consultation involves a thorough assessment of your current concerns, including questions that may sometimes seem unrelated. These questions help build a broader picture of how different aspects of your health may be interconnected and identify factors that may be contributing to your condition.

Depending on your needs and the treatment you choose, your first treatment will usually take place during the initial consultation. This may include acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Western herbal medicine or remedial massage.

Initial consultations are generally around one hour, although this can vary depending on the nature and complexity of your condition and the type of treatment required.

Following your assessment and treatment, Danny or Susan will work with you to develop an individualised treatment plan. This plan provides a clear direction for your care and includes milestones to help monitor your progress and identify areas that may require further attention.

The aim is not simply to address your immediate symptoms, but to understand the broader factors influencing your health and support you towards improved health and wellbeing.
